Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha will play for Bengal in upcoming domestic season, instead of Hyderabad. Ojha has received no objection certificate to play for Bengal from Hyderabad Cricket Association.
“It was a tough decision, but an important one for me at this stage of my career,” Ojha told Wisden India. “I wanted to make up for lost ground. The prime objective was to play in the Elite group, and against the top teams in the Ranji Trophy.”
“I had a frank discussion with the HCA secretary John Manoj and the president,” he added. “They were happy for me and it was handled very professionally.”
The joint secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal, Sourav Ganguly has confirmed the signing of Ojha. Inclusion of Ojha will strengthen Bengal’s spin attack, which looked weak last season.
