Barabati Stadium pitch is expected to assist Indian bowlers in 2nd T20.

The conditions were tough from bowling perspective in the 1st T20, as both teams conceded a total of 400 runs in Dharamsala, with dew playing a significant part in the match and made bowling tough.

However, in the 2nd T20, the bowlers are expected to get some respite as the Barabati Stadium pitch is likely to remain slow and low making it difficult for batsmen to score freely like they did in the 1st T20.

Team India was greeted with heavy showers and rain when it arrived in Bhubaneswar, and the stadium itself was under a pool of water, which is expected to provide assistance to bowlers.

The Dharamsala pitch also had the fair covering of grass, but the dew took away anything that the pitch would have offered. In Cuttack as well dew is expected to play a significant role.

“Conditions will differ every time we travel,” Rohit Sharma said. “At Dharamsala, we thought there will be some seam movement because there was some grass covering on the wicket. But unfortunately because of the dew that was taken away.”

“We have to wait and see how the captain and the rest of the team management go about the rest of the series,” he added. “Our bowlers have played enough international cricket over the years and they know what line and length to bowl.”

Dew is not the only factor both team would be looking at, as according to the meteorological department there might be a change of rain during the play.
