In the limited opportunities Manish Pandey has got with the Indian Cricket Team he has made most of it. Pandey, who has played just four one-dayers, averages more than 90, and has a century against Australia to his name.
Despite giving an impressive start to his career, Pandey is yet to become a permanent member of the Indian team, and the Zimbabwe series, starting June 11, is a perfect opportunity for him to strengthen his case for a regular spot.
Interestingly, Pandey had made his India debut against Zimbabwe last year, but since then has failed to get a regular place in the coveted Indian batting line-up.
“We were there last year around the same time and I made my debut in Zimbabwe,” Manish Pandey said. “It is good to go back there and share those memories, score some runs for India and do my duty.”
Pandey is among a very few players that have international experience to his name in the team touring Zimbabwe, and the stylish right-hander feels that is an opportunity for him to prove himself again.
“I am young and have just started my international career,” Pandey insisted. “This is an opportunity for me to prove myself again and also take care of the youngsters and help them.”
