MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is adding one feather after the another to his hat with every game. The India limited-overs captain is on a brink of reaching another landmark, which he is most likely to achieve against Zimbabwe.

The Indian captain currently has 8,918 runs to his name in 275 ODIs, and he is now just 82 runs short of becoming only the fifth Indian batsmen to reach 9,000 runs mark in the one-day internationals.

Sachin Tendulkar is currently sitting at the top with a massive 18,426 runs to his name, while Sourav Ganguly is second with 11,363 runs, Rahul Dravid is third with 10,889 and Mohammad Azharuddin is fourth with 9,378 runs.

Dhoni, meanwhile, is also the only captain, who has won all three major ICC tournaments – World T20 2007, World Cup 2015 and Champions Trophy 2013. He has also won the Indian Premier League and Champions League T20.

The first match of a short limited-overs series is starting June 11 in Harare. India are set to face Zimbabwe in three one-day international and three T20 international matches. All matches will be played at the same venue.

Indian batsmen with 9,000 plus ODI runs:

  1. Sachin Tendulkar – 18,426 runs (463 matches)
  2. Sourav Ganguly – 11,363 (311 matches)
  3. Rahul Dravid – 10,889 (344 matches)
  4. Mohammad Azharuddin – 9,378 (334 matches)
