Nathan Lyon is Australian Cricket Team’s number one spinner with the Red Kookaburra, and despite Adam Zampa’s rise, his place in the Test team is safe.

Zampa has emerged his Australia’s lead spinner in the limited-overs format. He recently had a superb outing in the Indian Premier League, and also doing well in the ongoing tri-series in the Caribbean.

The 24-year-old Zampa, after sealing a regular place in the Australian ODI side, now aiming for a Test call, and earn his baggy green.

However, breaking into the Test squad will be difficult for Zampa, seeing he will be playing very few Sheffield Shield match this season, as he will be involved in playing limited-overs matches for Australia.

“If I keep improving the way I think I’ve been improving, it’s definitely something that I think is on the cards,” Zampa said.

“Nathan is doing a great job at the moment and I’m very happy where I am playing Twenty20 cricket and one-day cricket,” he added.

“I just want to keep improving and hopefully if that opportunity does arrive, I’ll definitely be ready for it,” he concluded.

Zampa might get a chance of coming into the Australian Cricket Team’s Test squad when it will be touring India in early next year.
