India limited-over captain MS Dhoni has been under unnecessary criticism since India’s defeat in the 1st T20 against the West Indies. His finishing abilities and leadership skills have been put under questions lately.
Dhoni was brilliant with the bat in the opening T20, and made a handy contribution. He, however, failed to give the finishing touch, but it was more because of Dwayne Bravo’s brilliant bowling than the shot selection.

Meanwhile, the Indian captain has got support of former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath. The former Aussie said that it is good for the youngsters coming into the team to have someone like Dhoni around.
“It will be a harsh judgment if you say that Dhoni is not finishing anymore,” McGrath said. “He’s been one of the best finishers of the game. He’s been a quality player for a long long time.”

“His strength is the shorter format of the game,” he added. “He still has a lot to offer with the young guys coming in.”
Dhoni’s next assignment with the Indian Cricket Team is a five-match ODI series against New Zealand in October.
