The selectors, who are watching the proceedings in Greater Noida, can’t commit to any drastic change in the squad. There is an understanding that these players are at least match-ready and could be inducted into the teams.
India all set to play over 13 matches at home, the selectors want to keep the bench strength ready.
So much so that they even don’t mind selecting a young talent from the India A team or a player from the Duleep Trophy teams to encourage the bench strength.

However, there is a genuine problem which has put the selectors in a spot of bother. Who is going to replace whom? With the Duleep Trophy being the starting bit at the domestic season, the consistent performers are surely going to be rewarded.
During the Duleep final when the selectors pick the Test team for the New Zealand series at home, it remains to be seen how many of them get a nod. Because it will add value to the Duleep Trophy!
