The India team continues to rule the roost in the ongoing Asia Cup. By beating all the top teams in the competition – Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, MS Dhoni and his men have rightly booked a spot in the final.

Not only that, they are looking good to go all the way. And why not? This was India’s eight T20 win this year from nine games and general picture is looking good.

The only game India lost was against Sri Lanka during the bilateral T20 series in Pune. Other than that, they performances have been spotless.

Tuesday’s match against Lanka was another such occasion where India made it look so effortless while chasing a winning target of 139.

After the bowlers yet again displayed some great discipline to restrict Sri Lanka to a score of 138, the Indian middle-order swung into action and took the game away from the opposition.

Amongst the bowlers, it was again Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and R Ashwin who dazzled and took those important wickets for their team.

In the second essay of the match, there weren’t much of a contribution from the India openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma – but the rest of the gang were at it.

Suresh Raina first stabilised the Indian innings with Virat Kohli and thereafter the Yuvraj Singh-Kohli duo took over the centre-stage.

Yuvraj, in particular, was in lethal form and batted with a plenty of authority. He slammed three fours and sixes, which was the highlight of his 35-run knock that came off just 18 deliveries.

Kohli, who was named the man-of-the-match, scored a fine half-century, which he had missed in the previous game against Pakistan. In the end, the last six of the match off Dhoni’s bat summed up India’s yet another confident display on the field.
