Suresh Raina has been India’s mainstay in the middle-order for quite sometime now, and whenever the team needs to finish off the game, he is only the second after MS Dhoni.
Playing lower down the batting order, Raina has scored some important runs for Team India, although he doesn’t boost of many centuries, but the runs he has scored are very crucial.
Raina thinks he is lucky to have played under Dhoni, who has supported and backed his abilities. The swashbuckling southpaw added that he is happy to have contributed in a way Dhoni asked him to.
“I am lucky to have a captain like Dhoni who had such tremendous faith in me,” Rains said. “And he knows exactly what I am capable of doing. As a captain, he wants a certain type of player around him.”
“Not many players like to bat at No 6, but I have never questioned whatever I have been asked to do,” he added. “If he likes me for being selfless, then I am flattered.”
