A young Indian Cricket Team, led by MS Dhoni, completed a 3-0 whitewash over Zimbabwe by registering third successive thumping win over the hosts at the Harare Sports Club.
Much like the first two matches, bowlers set up an easy win for the Indian team in the third one-dayer by bundling Zimbabwe to a paltry 123, which the Indian batsmen chased down easily by ten wickets.
The new opening pair of Faiz Fazal and in-form KL Rahul was never really troubled by Zimbabwe bowlers, as they went on to chase down the total with 28 overs to spare. Both Rahul and Fazal finished with unbeaten fifties.
Jasprit Bumrah was the wrecker-in-chief and finished with four wickets, while also demolishing Zimbabwe’s middle-order. Yuzvendra Chahal, meanwhile, continued to impress with his leg-spin.
Chahal provided crucial breakthroughs, and finished with a couple of wickets. Pacer Dhawal Kulkarni and left-arm spinner Axar Patel took one wicket apiece.
Zimbabwe, meanwhile, showed a spineless batting performance, and from 104 for three, lost their seven wickets for just 17 runs. Vusi Sibanda, Chamu Chibhabha and Timycen Maruma could only manage to put up a fight.
“I think the execution has been really good, and that’s the key factor,” MS Dhoni said. “The fast bowlers and the spinners took wickets and put pressure, so I’m happy with the bowling performance.”
