Another day, another spineless batting from Zimbabwe. At one point it looked like India will be chasing atleast 180, if not more, but from 104 for three, Zimbabwe were bundled for a paltry 123 at the Harare Sports Club.
It came as a rude shock for Zimbabwe supporters, who were hoping for atleast a fight, if not a win, in the third and final ODI. Zimbabwe’s batting collapsed like a pack of cards, as they lost their last seven wickets for just 17 runs
Chamu Chibhabha and Vusi Sibanda added 36 runs for the second wicket, while Timycen Maruma added 34 runs with the former to put Zimbabwe in a decent position for an onslaught in the final overs.
But, India struck back with Jasprit Bumrah, who wretched havoc, and demolished Zimbabwe’s batting. Bumrah finished with four wickets, while giving away just 22 runs his 10 overs.
Yuzvendra Chahal also bowled well with his leg-spin, and took a couple of wickets. Chahal provided breakthroughs whenever a partnership seemed to be flourishing at the top-order.
Meanwhile, Dhawal Kulkarni and Axar Patel finished with a wicket each, while Barinder Sran went wicketless in the match. Sran and Kulkarni were, again, impressive with the new-ball.
