In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karnataka suffered largely, but opener KL Rahul top-scored for his side, and played a gritty innings against Haryana.
Karnataka were rocked early when they last opener Mayank Agarwal for a duck, but KL Rahul stitched crucial top-order partnership to bail his team out.
KL Rahul made a 40-run partnership with Sadiq Kirmani for the second wicket, then a 58-run partnership Manish Pandey for the third wicket to rebuild Karnataka’s innings.
The India opener was unfortunate to have missed out on a well-deserved half-century, when Yuzvendra Chahal cleaned him up. Karnataka posted 242 runs on the board.
Meanwhile, Haryana pacer Mohit Sharma didn’t get any wicket in the match, but he bowled with controlled line and length, and gave away nothing.
Karnataka posted 242 runs on the board, and in reply Haryana could only manage 204, falling 38 runs short of the target.
