The Indian Cricket Team has maintained its second place in the latest ICC Test rankings, which is topped by the world champions Australia.

Australia, meanwhile, have opened six points gap over the second-placed Indian team, which has 112 rating points. Pakistan are third in the standings. Pakistan have 111 rating points, just one less than archrivals India.

England and New Zealand are fourth and fifth, respectively after gaining one position each, while South Africa are sixth after losing three places.

South Africa dropping from third position to sixth after conceding 17 points. This is due to South Africa’s victories over England, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan in 2012-13 all being dropped from the rankings calculations.

West Indies are also affected by the annual update of ICC Test rankings. They have retained their eighth position, despite dropping 11 points. They now have 65 rating points.

Also, the gap between the West Indies and ninth-ranked Bangladesh has been slashed from 29 points to just eight points.
