Pakistan have taken strict actions by axing their star batsman Ahmed Shehzad, and wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal from the list of probables for the forthcoming tour to England.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, chief selector of Pakistan, informed that both players are dropped because of their inconsistency, and past disciplinary record.
“Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal have not been included in the training camp taking into view their past disciplinary record,” Inzamam informed media.
“Neither is their discipline good nor their recent performances consistent and impressive,” the former Pakistan skipper said in a presser.
This is a strict measure taken by the Pakistan selectors after the report of former coach Waqar Younis, who questioned attitude of both Akmal and Shehzad.
Earlier, Misbah-ul-Haq had also asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to drop both the players, and now the board has finally taken a strict action against the duo.
Meanwhile, Pakistan have also not included Shahid Afridi for a one-off T20I. “We are looking at building a new team for T20 format but Shahid will be considered later on if necessary,” Inzamam insisted.
The inclusion of left-arm pacer Mohammad Irfan for the limited-overs games will depend upon his fitness.
