KL Rahul will be playing his first Test series at home against South Africa.

India Test opener KL Rahul is among the highly-rated young batsmen in the Indian setup, and in the young career so far he has impressed one an all with his solid technique and temperament.

Rahul has played just five Test matches for India, and has scored two centuries against Australia and Sri Lanka. His impressive conversion rate, especially away from home, makes him an ideal top-order player.

Still young at the international level, Rahul is yet to stamp himself as a regular in the opening position, where he has scored both his centuries, but the Karnataka-born is excited about the prospect.

“After two international centuries people look at me in a different way,” KL Rahul said. “I have become more disciplined and focused. I’m just excited to see how I will end up in my international career which has just started.”

In Tests, Rahul averages just over 25, despite having two centuries, and the 23-year-old is insisted he is working hard on being consistent and dealing with success.

“After all the hours of hard work in training, I can’t help but think about what went wrong,” KL Rahul said. “By playing more matches, I’m learning to deal with success and failure. A poor knock has thought me to keep working hard and stay focused.”
