Clinical Bangladesh create history with 1st series win over India

Bangladesh

Bangladesh did everything right from bundling India to a paltry total, then chasing the target in clinical fashion to register their 1st series win over India in Mirpur.

Chasing 200 at home in 47 overs wasn’t going to be difficult for Bangladesh, and they did it in style with 54 balls to spare to clinch the contest by six wickets.

Mustafizur Rahman was the start for Bangladesh again and ripped through the Indian batting, which only managed to post 200 in the rain-affected match.

Nasir Hossain also bowled well and got key wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, while Rubel Hossain also chipped-in with a couple of wickets.

But, it was Mustafizur, who took a six-for, including the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Dhawan and Dhoni did put up a fight, with the former making a gritty fifty, but it proved insufficient as India were bundled for a just 200 in 45 overs.

While chasing Bangladesh got a swift start from Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal. After losing Tamim, Bangladesh played smart cricket as they knew India were looking for wickets.

Bangladesh took calculated risks and built small partnership, while scoring at a good pace. They absorbed the pressure created by Indian spinner and cruised home clinically.
