When Indian team for Australia tour was announced on Saturday, out of nowhere, Yuvraj Singh was awarded a place for the three-match T20 series that will be played next month down under.
Yuvraj, who was out of the national team in the World T20 final in 2014, has got a lifeline to revive his international career. And, with World T20 just round the corner, this is Yuvraj’s golden opportunity to get back into the think of things.
“It feels great to get an opportunity,” Yuvraj Singh said. “Playing in Australia will not be easy but I need to make the best of this (chance).”
Yuvraj, however, has not been included in the ODI squad, but the aggressive southpaw is aiming to stamp his mark for a World T20 spot.
“Sad to have missed out from the ODI’s but I have to do well here,” Yuvraj Singh. “Hopefully I will be picked in the T20 World Cup squad.”
“Pressure is always there,” he added. “More so when you are making a comeback, people expect you to replicate your old performances.”
