Sean Abbott reportedly up for IPL auction along with atleast seven other Aussies

Australia all-rounder Sean Abbott is reportedly up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season eight auctions, along with atleast seven other Australian players.

According to reports, atleast a couple of franchise are interested in signing Abbott, who has taken six wickets this season for the Sydney Sixers in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).

Abbott is one of Australia’s rising stars in the limited-overs format and has represented Australia in a one-day and a couple of T20 matches against Pakistan and South Africa, respectively.

Along with Abbott, David Hussey, Brad Hodge, Aaron Finch, Michael Hussey, Ben Hilfenhaus and Ben Dunk will also come under the hammer, after been released by their respective franchises.

Tim Ludeman and Travis Head, who are the leading run-scorers in the BBL, pacer Jason Behrendorff, leg-spinner Adam Zampa are also expected to feature in the auctions.

Retained Australian Players: Nathan Coulter-Nile (Delhi), George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Marsh (KXIP), Chris Lynn, Pat Cummins (KKR), Josh Hazlewood (Mumbai), Shane Watson, Ben Cutting, James Faulkner, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith (Rajasthan), Mitchell Starc, Nic Maddinson (RCB), David Warner, Moises Henriques (Hyderabad).

Released Players: Ben Hilfenhaus, John Hastings, David Hussey (CSK), Michael Hussey, Ben Dunk (Mumbai), Brad Hodge (Rajasthan), Aaron Finch (Hyderabad).
