The release date of the much-anticipated biopic on the life of Indian captain MS Dhoni, MS Dhoni The Untold Story, has been pushed to September 30 from September 2.
According to the producers of the biopic, the move is initiated to give audience the best possible visual experience. The movie, starring Sushant Singh Rajput as Dhoni, is directed by Neeraj Pandey.
“It was a unanimous decision to release the film on September 30. This would give the team some more time to present the film to the audiences in the best way.”
“We in no way wanted to compromise on the visual experience that Neeraj Pandey is set to create with this movie,” Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said.
The movie’s teaser trailer which was launched earlier received positive response from fans and critics, raising expectations from the movie, also featuring Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawala, Kiara Advani and Disha Patani.
“The postponement of the release date by three weeks will only help the post production team to further augment the value proposition of the film,” Arun Pandey, co-producer of MS Dhoni The Untold Story said.
“This is one of the most-awaited films of the year and I am sure fans will understand that the marginal delay will only help enhance the visual experience of the end product,” he added.
