Barinder Sran registered best figures on T20 debut by an Indian bowlers to set an easy win for India. Sran ripped Zimbabwe top-order apart to finish with four wickets in Harare.
The Indian team leveled the three-match series, beating Zimbabwe by ten wickets. Sran proved unplayable for Zimbabwe on a good batting pitch of the Harare Sports Club.
It was then Jasprit Bumrah’s turn to rattle Zimbabwe after Sran. Bumrah wretched havoc with the old ball and dismissed three batsmen. He ended any chance of Zimbabwe’s revival into the game.
Zimbabwe managed to construct just one good partnership, which flourished between Malcolm Waller and Peter Moor. Apart from that the hosts had nothing to show, after electing to bat first.
Sran and Bumrah got good support from Dhawal Kulkarni and Yuzvendra Chahal. And, India restricted Zimbabwe to a paltry 99 on a good batting wicket of Harare.
It was always going to be a straight-forward chase for India, and they did it in style. The Indian team managed to chase the total down with 41 balls to spare.
Indian openers, Mandeep Singh and KL Rahul, started the chase cautiously. Mandeep was helped by a couple of dropped chances, but after getting the eye in, he looked in complete control.
