I Was Motivated To Go That Extra Mile, Says Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers captain Virat Kohli was again his element while chasing, and scripted a superb run-chase for his side over Rising Pune Supergiants.

Kohli batted through the innings, completed his second hundred of the tournament, and ensured his team remain in contention of reaching the knockouts.

The RCB captain paced his innings superbly and never took unnecessary risk, despite losing two quick wickets in the middle, and having a massive total in front.

“I was pretty determined tonight, last time in Hyderabad we had to chase down 192 and we were pumped up,” Kohli said in a post-match presentation.

“Today I was motivated to go that extra mile and we needed to win six out of seven to qualify,” he added. “I’m just happy we could pull that one off.”

Kohli, who scored an unbeaten hundred, pointed out the need of understanding the situation while chasing something as big as 191.

Despite hitting his second hundred of the tournament, Virat Kohli insisted that his focus was on taking his team home, and not on any individual milestones.

“It’s about understanding the situation and doing what suits best at that time,” Kohli pointed out. “Even today I was not keen on celebrating too much after the hundred, the victory matters more for the team.”
