Virat Kohli Scripts Stunnings Run-chase for Royal Challengers Bangalore

There’s not an iota of doubt left that Virat Kohli is one of the best chasers in the world cricket at the moment, and no target is big enough for the stylish right-hander.

Kohli, once again, proved how good a player he is by scoring his second century in this year’s Indian Premier League, and more importantly helping his team in chasing down a mammoth total set by Rising Pune Supergiants.

Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down 191 with three balls to spare, and registered a seven-wicket win over the Supergiants, all thanks to Kohli’s masterclass.

Earlier, the Royal Challengers’ captain laid a solid launchpad with KL Rahul, as the duo stitched a 94-run opening partnership, and later Shane Watson’s special sealed them the win.

The Supergiants tried to crawl back in the content when Adam Zampa, playing his first match, dismissed both Rahul and AB de Villiers in the same over.

But, Watson had other plans and he never allowed Pune to comeback into the content. The Aussie allrounder made a ruthless 13-ball 36, featuring five boundaries and two massive sixes.

Watson thrashed Thisara Perera, in particular, by hitting five boundaries off his over, opening the floodgates, which the Supergiants failed to shut till the end.

Earlier, put into bat, the Supergiants posted a more than competitive total on the board, thanks to fifties from Ajinkya Rahane and Saurabh Tiwary.

Rahane was in his element, once again, while the other Supergiants’ batsmen batted around him to propel their side to a mammoth total in this crunch game.

The target, however, didn’t prove to be a massive one for the Royal Challengers as they found their top-order, led by Virat Kohli, firing against MS Dhoni’s Supergiants.
