Virat Kohli Praises KL Rahul, Shane Watson in RCB Win

No matter how much you are chasing, it is important to get a solid foundation. That’s exactly the kind of start Royal Challengers Bangalore got against Rising Pune Supergiants from their openers.

KL Rahul and Virat Kohli added 97 runs for the first wicket and put their team well oncourse of a chasing a massive 191, which they did it in style with three balls to spare, and seven wickets in hand.

Kohli, captain of the Royal Challengers, lauded Rahul after his side’s win, while also praising Shane Watson, who provided thrust in the middle overs.

“Brilliant contributions from KL and Watson in the middle overs too,” Kohli said. “I always check my heart rate, if it’s fine then I can take better decisions.”

“It’s all about keeping your nerves and enthusiasm in check. I try to focus on myself and what I need to do and I convince myself completely before going for it.”

“When you are chasing 12-13 per over and losing wickets, you can’t bog down. You’d rather pick an area and get your boundaries there,” the RCB captain added.

Rahul has been in superb form for the Royal Challengers and already has three fifties to his name in this Indian Premier League season.
