The Indian team continued to score freely in Vizag, and scored 415 runs when the lunch was taken on Day 2. England, however, managed to pull things back with three quick blows, later in the session.
Moeen Ali turned it around for the English team. He dismissed Virat Kohli, Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja in a space of 12 runs. Despite striking thrice, England failed to contain the Indians.

The Indian captain Kohli (167) was the first to depart in the morning session. He edged one at slips to Ben Stokes, who had dropped Ravichandran Ashwin (47 not out) at ball before. Ashwin is closing on his fifty.
Saha (3) was the next to depart. He was trapped in front by Ali, followed by another similar dismissal of Ravindra Jadeja. A review would have saved Jadeja, though, but he left the field without reviewing it.
