Kevin Pietersen has informed that he will not be playing in this year’s Indian Premier League. He has pulled out of the tournament auction citing excessive cricket he had played in the winters.
Kevin Pietersen Tweeted: I won’t be going into the IPL auction. My winter has been too busy with all my travel & I don’t want to spend April/May away too!
FYI – I won’t be going into the IPL auction. My winter has been too busy with all my travel & I don’t want to spend April/May away too!

Pietersen recently played in South Africa and then the Big Bash League where he scored 198 and 268 runs, respectively. He will be playing for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League from February 9.
The Indian Premier League will take place in April, while the actions are slated for late February. But, the tournament will be missing the destructive player, who played for Rising Pune Supergiants last season.
An injury ended Pietersen’s IPL prematurely with the Supergiants last season. He has been released by the Rising Pune Supergiants. He was to go into the auctions later this month.
