India may have lost the T20 series against the West Indies by a 1-0 margin after the second match was abandoned due to rain, but India’s biggest winner was KL Rahul.
Yes, we are talking about a cricketer who had a very forgettable debut against Australia in Test match, who got out to a shot which wasn’t the need of the hour. But from there, Rahul went from strength to strength. Every time he took the field, he was a better player and he still continues to be like that.

This year’s IPL was the biggest thing to have happened to Rahul. He wasn’t as effective as some of his teammates like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. He, however, certain made his mark with some magical knocks.
Rahul had a style of his own and showed tremendous how he could be a star performer for India. So much so that his Test captain Kohli wanted him to be a part of the India playing XI in the 1st Test match against the West Indies.

Unfortunately, Rahul couldn’t make it to the playing XI in Antigua. He was back in the thick of things from the second match of the series. He not only scored consistently, but also looked to improve with every match.
By the time the T20 match happened near Florida, Rahul was ready for the T20 challenge this time and batted like a real champion. It came down to some fearless hitting from the Bangalore cricketer, who would be a tough nut to crack in international.
He also has the additional advantage of wicket-keeping that gives him an additional edge over others. Frankly, Rahul is clearly the next big Indian star in cricket firmament!
