England have added Keaton Jennings and Liam Dawson to their squad for the India tour. Jennings and Dawson will join the English Test Squad as replacements for the remaining two Test matches against India.

Jennings will replace opener Haseeb Hameed, while Dawson has come as Zafar Ansari’s backup. Hameed tour has ended prematurely because of a finger injury, while Ansari has a back injury.

“The thought of going back to India is exciting too,” Jennings said. “I’ve been lucky enough to go there once before as a youngster, when my dad was on the coaching staff of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.”

“That was a great experience, but this is going to be very different,” he added. “To be going there as a member of the England squad. I’m going to have to introduce myself to a lot of new guys I guess.”

Jennings is the leading run-scorer in the County season. He 1548 runs at an average of 64 this season. Dawson, meanwhile, has experience of playing in the subcontinent. He recently played in the Bangladesh Premier League.
