The Indian team management has released KL Rahul from the squad. A forearm injury had ruled Rahul out of the 3rd Test. He, however, is in contention of playing the 4th Test in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the team management has also released allrounder Hardik Pandya from the Test squad. Pandya sustained an injury in his right shoulder during a training session. He is yet to make his Test debut.

“BCCI medical team confirms that India allrounder Hardik Pandya sustained a blow on his right shoulder during a training session in Mohali,” the BCCI informed in a statement. “He has been released from the Indian Test team and will consult a specialist to decide the future course of action”
