KL Rahul Ruled Out, Again, With Forearm Injury

Opener KL Rahul missed the Mohali Test after injuring his forearm ahead of the match. He is likely to miss the upcoming game in Mumbai, as the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has advised him to rest.

Rahul got injured while fielding in Vizag. In a build-up to the 3rd Test, he experienced pain while batting, according to a statement issued by the BCCI. He was subsequently rested for the Mohali match.

The BCCI statement informed: KL Rahul sustained a blow to his left forearm while fielding in Vizag. Injury got exaggerated in the nets. He feels uncomfortable while batting. BCCI medical team advised him rest to fully recover.

He has recently returned to the Indian team after a long lay-off. He recovered from a hamstring injury, which made him to miss the major part of the New Zealand tour, and also the opening encounter against England.

Karun Nair replaced Rahul in the playing XI of the 3rd Test. His injury has also opened doors for Shikhar Dhawan, who is out of the team for a while now. Dhawan is aiming to prove his form and fitness in the Ranji Trophy.
