It was a completely a disastrous decision of the Indian team management to back the idea of producing another turning track after losing the Pune Test within three days. To tell the truth, it was an act of another over-confidence while making it clear that the team didn’t learn much from the Pune defeat.
Yes, this was the same Indian team, which could do no wrong a few week ago is staring down the barrel. Why? Technically, after losing the Pune match, the team should have ordered for a good batting track which would start turning from Day Three. Unconfirmed reports suggested that the team opted for those type of pitches, which won them he Test series against New Zealand and England.

However, it is increasingly getting clear the game plan must have changed two days before the 2nd Test began in Bengaluru. The team management may have thought of continuing with the same turning ‘track policy’ as India’s best chance to level the series against Australia would come only from another turning pitch.

But the over-worked Indian spinners along with the pacers kept things tight with the ball on Day 2of the Australia’s first innings and deprived the visitors from scoring at free will. The Aussies could only scored over 2 runs per over, which is something really commendable of the Indians.
