India’s most successful cricket captain, MS Dhoni, is enjoying the purple patch with the bat right now. He hit a century against England, and then struck another ton for Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Dhoni has recently left India’s limited-overs captaincy, and handed over the skipper’s baton to Virat Kohli. He will not be leading Rising Pune Supergiants in the upcoming Indian Premier League.

Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist feels that Dhoni would be enjoying his cricket more, since there is no captaincy burden over him now. He also termed Dhoni the ‘most exciting cricket to watch’.

“Batting, keeping and captaining at a time is not easy to do,” Gilchrist said. “I would not expect MS to be too upset about the loss of captaincy. He has achieved everything that can possibly be achieved in cricket.”

“He has won all the trophies that one can win,” he added. “I think he is enjoying his limited attendance in cricket. He has been one of the most exciting cricketers to watch in the last 10-15 years.”

After Vijay Hazare Trophy, Dhoni will play in the IPL 2017, followed by Champions Trophy in the United Kingdom.
