Supernatural encounter left Pakistan batsman ‘traumatised’ in New Zealand

There have been a number of instances which have left Pakistan team in news during the overseas tours, but this one is completely new and has a ‘supernatural’ angle to it.

Pakistan batsman Haris Sohail encountered paranormal activity in his hotel room and owing to it had to chance his room. Sohail is touring New Zealand with Pakistan team, which is to play a couple of ODIs with the Black Caps.

According to reports, Sohail felt supernatural presence in his room at night and was freaked out after being pushed while sleeping. Pakistan team management requested the hotel, Rydges Latimer Christchurch to change his room, following the incident.

Reportedly, the hotel is built just 100m away from the place, where 115 people lost their lives during the 2011 earthquake. Spokesperson of Rydges Latimer Christchurch, meanwhile, rejected claims that there is any ghost in the hotel as no such instance has been reported previously.

“It’s hard to believe,” he said. “They (Pakistan management) told me it was only a nightmare. I spoke with a team physiotherapist and other people on the team. He (Sohail) didn’t come to me but they wanted him to move rooms. He’s been sleeping in another room for about two nights now.”

This is not the first instance that cricketers have experienced supernatural presence around them, as England pacer Stuart Broad and Australia all-rounder Shane Watson have also experienced the spookiness.
