India opener Murali Vijay will miss the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. He hasn’t fully recovered from the wrist injury as yet. Shikhar Dhawan will replace him in the three Tests against the Islanders.
This is another opportunity for Dhawan to resurrect his Test career. He has recently scored heavily for the Indian team in the shorter formats. He, however, has an under-par record in the Tests lately.
The BCCI informed in a statement: “The All-India Senior Selection Committee on Monday named Shikhar Dhawan as the replacement for injured Murali Vijay in the Test team, which is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka for a three-match Test series.”

“Vijay, who had suffered a wrist injury during Australia’s tour of India. He has complained of pain in his right wrist, while playing a preparatory match. The BCCI medical team has therefore advised that Vijay should continue his rehabilitation program.”
