MS Dhoni’s gutsy knock of 71 was the only highlight in the first Indian innings. The Indian skipper displayed immense courage and skill to fight back the English bowlers, who were on the front foot right through out the Indian innings on Day 1 of the Test match.
Dhoni, batting in at number six, was the only Indian batsmen who managed to show great technique against the English bowlers and scored on every opportunity that came his way. The Indian captain knew his off-stump very well and was also quick enough to dominate the opponent bowlers whenever he wanted to do so.
His knock of 71 came only in 133 balls which included 15 boundaries.
