MS Dhoni on World T20: You Cannot Take Any Side Lightly

The World T20 might be featuring teams like Oman, Scotland, Hong Kong and Netherlands, among others, the tournament is no less competitive than any other ICC competition.

Eight teams, featuring Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Ireland, are currently fighting it out for two qualifying places in the second round, where they will lock horns with the big boys, like India, Australia and New Zealand, to name a few.

In the past, teams like Zimbabwe and Ireland had stunned world champions in the shortest format of the game, making it an exciting tournament to say the least.

India captain MS Dhoni, during his pre-tournament press conference, termed the World T20 a world-class tournament in which a couple of bad or good overs can change the game.

“It is a world class tournament,” Dhoni said. “All teams have a set of good players that can play big shoots, all of them have got fantastic bowlers, good allrounders. So, I feel it’s quite even.”

“All teams are very good teams and it will come to how well you have played on that particular day,” he added. “So, you cannot take any side lightly, especially the big hitters who can really change the game.”
