Team India has opted to test the bench strength against Sri Lanka in the final one-dayer in Ranchi by resting middle-order batsman Suresh Raina.
“Everybody has been getting opportunities more or less,” Sanjay Bangar, India’s assistant coach said. “For tomorrow’s game we have rested Suresh (Raina), so the boys who have missed out so far, have a very good chance to play.”
The move has opened paths for Kedar Jadhav to play in the series final at the JSCA International Stadium Complex.
Raina has been in fine form lately and showed his class by making a fine half-century in the opening one-dayer in Cuttack. He also played well in the limited-overs series against England and West Indies.
