Team India will be putting its number one ranking on the line against Sri Lanka in the three-match T20 series, starting February 9 in Pune.
The MS Dhoni’s team recently dethroned West Indies from the top after cleansweeping Australia in the three-match series Down Under.
Sri Lanka are currently third in the T20 rankings, and a series win will propel them to the number one position in the T20, ahead of India and West Indies.
This, however, is not going to be easy for the Lankan Lions, who have arrived with a depleted squad owing to the injuries of their key players.
The men in blue, on the other hand, apart from Virat Kohli, are heading into the series with a full strength squad, and they are also in a red hot form.
Both India and Sri Lanka are preparing for the World T20, and after the T20 series will be playing the Asia Cup T20 tournament in Bangladesh.
