India U-19 team for U-19 Asia Cup announced

The All-India Junior Selection Committee has picked the India U-19 team for the fourth edition of the fifty overs Under-19 Asia Cup.

The India U-19 team is as follows:

Himanshu Rana (Captain), Abhishek Sharma (vice-captain), Atharva Taide, Manjot Kalra, Salman Khan, Anuj Rawat, Harvik Desai, Riyan Parag, Anukul Roy, Shiva Singh, Tanush Kotian, Darshan Nalkande, Vivekanand Tiwary, Aditya Thakare, Mandeep Singh.

This year’s U-19 Asia Cup will be played in Malaysia from November 9-20. It was originally scheduled to be held in India, but it was moved after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refused to travel to India.

The Under-19 Asia Cup is an international cricket tournament that was held last year in Sri Lanka from 15 to 23 December 2016. It formed part of the qualification process for the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Eight teams participated in the tournament, with the six Asian teams at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup being joined by the top two teams from the 2016 Asia Division Two event.[1] India won the tournament, beating Sri Lanka by 34 runs in the final.[2]
