India’s Virat Kohli has become the number-one ranked batsman in the latest ICC rankings for T20 internationals, released on Tuesday.
Virat Kohli has moved ahead of Australia’s Aaron Finch, who missed Monday’s T20I against England, which the home side won by five runs. As a result, Finch dropped 17 points, which, in turn, means he now trails the India Test captain by seven points.
Moving up the batting table following Monday’s T20I were rival captains Eoin Morgan of England and Steven Smith of Australia. Eoin Morgan slapped a scorching fifty, which has helped him move six places to eighth, while Smith’s blazing innings, helped him rocket 62 places to 96th.
England’s Moeen Ali, meanwhile, has achieved a career-high 77th spot, which has vaulted him 79 places.
In the bowling table, Pat Cummins has moved up 11 places to join Imran Tahir in 14thspot, while Glenn Maxwell has moved up three places to 29th. The bowlers’ list is headed by Samuel Badree of the West Indies.
Meanwhile, Australia has dropped one place to third after Monday’s loss. This has put Pakistan in second place, six points behind ICC World Twenty20 champion Sri Lanka. England has retained its eighth position on the table.
