In a bid to prepare for the forthcoming Under-19 World Cup, India Under-19 team is currently in Sri Lanka to play a tri-series against Sri Lanka and England colts.

The Indian colts stamped their mark in the first match of the tournament, even though the game was abandoned owing to rain when the Indian team was in a strong position.

India top-order, featuring Himanshu Rana, Virat Singh and Ishant Kishan, was in its element and all three batsmen scored half-centuries as India posted an imposing 303 on the board.

Himanshu Rana was the top-scorer for India and made a fluent 90, featuring 12 fours and one six. The opener was unfortunate to have missed out on a well-deserved hundred.

However, Ishant Kishan and Himanshu Rana provided India a  rock-solid start, and later Virat Singh build upon it to put the visitors on course of a massive total in Colombo.

Virat Singh also played a fluent innings featuring five fours and two sixes. The stylish right-hander took just 74 balls for scoring his 72.
