The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has come up with a number of plans to promote Test cricket. In order to attract fans and make Test cricket spectator friendly a few steps are proposed.

Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is set to host the third Test match between India and New Zealand on October 8. The CAB will carry out a number of fans engagement activities during the time.

For making the stadium more spectator friendly, the CAB is planning to provide free WiFi, lunch break, a kids arena and local band performances at the venue.

The Cricket Association of Bengal has also proposed to engage fans with the game. The spectators can register themselves to get a certificate as a true fan of the game.

“The initiatives are tentative and indicative and firm plans will only be made once the financial and other impacts are worked out and approved by the association,” Avishek Dalmiya, CAB joint secretary, said.

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has also taken a number of steps to promote the longest format of the game. A total of 65 lakhs have been assigned for carrying out promotional activities.
