The Indian cricket team has all-rounders, such as Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, but the team is still struggling to find a genuine fast-bowling all-rounder to balance the squad.

There were players in the future that showed glimpses, but never managed to stamp their mark. But, the current India squad seems to have players that can fill-in the void, if groomed properly.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretory, Anurag Thakur feels seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Stuart Binny have the potential to fill the all-rounder’s slot in the Indian cricket team.

Thakur, meanwhile, also hoped the Indian cricket team would fare well in the forthcoming home season. Team India would play most of the games on home soil in this season.

“We have quite a few players like Stuart Binny and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who can fit into that role,” Anurag Thakur said. “I am sure our team will do well when the home season begins from October.”

The BCCI secretory also revealed plans of the National Cricket Academy and said it would help in improving fitness of players, while also strengthening overall skills of the team.

“We are stressing a lot on the fitness issues of players,” Anurag Thakur revealed. “To us, the fitness of a player is of top priority.”

“Secondly, the skill of our bowlers, both spinners and pacers, is another important aspect of our plan,” he added. “The NCA will help the Indian team to strengthen these two areas.”
