Andrew Flintoff to join England squad to ‘bowl batsmen back into form’

Former England skipper Andrew Flintoff has confirmed that he will be joining the national squad for training session at the Brisbane Cricket Ground to “bowl batsmen back into form”.

Flintoff, who has retired from cricket a long while ago, is currently playing for the Brisbane Heat in Australia’s Big Bash League and England coach Peter Moors is keen to have the former skipper around the national team.

It is not clear in which capacity Flintoff will be with the England team but the former international confirmed that he will meet the squad at the Gabba to do some work to lift the players up.

“In at the nets at the Gabba tomorrow with the English lads, I don’t know whether I’m a net bowler or what but I’m going to do some work with them,” Flintoff told in a television interview. “I’ll bowl the batsmen back into form.”

Flintoff was England’s key figure during his injury-hit international career and was a popular figure in the England dressing room. He also played a key role in helping England clinch the Ashes in Michael Vaughn’s captaincy.
