After more than a month break from cricket, many of us would be wondering how India’s Test captain Virat Kohli has shaped up for the four Test matches against the West Indies.
Is he in same ominous form and treating all the world class bowlers with utter disdain? Is he hungry to win all the four Tests in the West Indies, so on and so forth…
The good news for the Indian fans is that Kohli is still going strong in terms of keeping his appetite intact to score more and more runs.
During the Bangalore preparatory camp, Kohli also gave us enough proof how hungry he is for more and more wins. Yes, indeed Kohli is so ready for the four-match Test series in the West Indies.
He can’t wait to go out there and start the tour with yet another Test century. Not only he wants to lead from the front, but all keen to make it a 4-0 verdict in favour of India.
Kohli’s thinking is right. That is because if you are not thinking as big as captain Kohli right now, you can’t be seeing Indian winning more than 90 per cent of the 17 Test matches which the team is scheduled to play till next year. Therefore, his target isn’t only scoring runs for himself, but also translating those runs into victories.
It’s certainly a noble thought. But to translate these thoughts into action, Kohli also needs the support of his bowlers, especially from his spinners.
Kohli must have learnt that a strong batting unit alone can’t win you match in any format. You need equal partnerships from the bowlers. We have to wait and see how Kohli handles this one!
