The West Indies are currently trailing in the Test series, after losing the 1st Test in Antigua. There are three more matches left and the Indians are favorite to win the remaining games too.

Phil Simmons, coach of the West Indies team, is hopeful that his side will bounce back in the four-match series. The 2nd Test match is starting this Saturday at Jamaica’s Sabina Park.

“You can’t be demoralised with one Test out of four. There are still three Test matches to go,” Simmons said. “We know we didn’t play well and I think that is the good thing about it.”

“If we had played well and we got beaten like that, then something (would be) wrong,” he added. “So, we didn’t play well and we just have to make sure that we hit our straps when we are here.”

The Windies coach pointed out that his team was outplayed by the Indians in all three departments. He insisted that his players are required to up the ante in Jamaica with both bat and ball.

“You don’t look for excuses, you look for reasons why you do things wrong and the reason is that we didn’t bowl well and we didn’t bat well,” Simmons pointed out. “So we have to do both of them well and we can’t ask for anything else.”
