T20 is a strange format. The best team in the competition may not end up winning a game. Even the best effort may not give you the best results.

For the Kolkata Knight Riders, their pacer Umesh Yadav, who was the hero of their last match against the Delhi Daredevils on Monday, went for 40 runs from his four over in his next match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Prior to this match, KKR were the favourites because the defending champions were superior to Hyderabad in every respect. But when the match was actually played out; Hyderabad emerged as the winner for the kind of batting their captain David Warner did on Wednesday.

In a rain-curtailed match, KKR won the toss and applied the same formulae of chasing like they did against the Daredevils. But their decision backfired after the Sunrisers openers batted the KKR bowlers out of the match.

Warner was not only brilliant with his approach, style and aggression, but also displayed great sense of maturity. He led from the front and finished with a resounding 55-ball 91, and was ably supported by Shikhar Dhawan.

The KKR stumbled while chasing as the target was revised, making them to change plans. Still, they fought well, but couldn’t avoid the defeat. Unfortunately, this T20 format is as unpredictable as nature and teams get little or no time to adjust.
