The Indian Test captain Virat Kohli is delighted after reaching at the top in the ICC Test rankings. He, however, has urged his players for consistency to consolidate number one spot in the charts.

India reached the top after Sri Lanka whitewashed Australia in a three-match series. The series loss resulted in Australia slumping to third, while India moving up to the first position.

Kohli’s men are now just a point ahead of Pakistan. They have a good chance of stretching their lead the archrivals by beating the West Indies in the 4th Test in Port of Spain, starting today.

“You have to play sustained cricket for a good period of time to be the best team in the world. We have played good cricket that’s why we have climbed up the rankings,” Virat Kohli said.

“If you see we have played lesser number of games than the other teams. It’s only after we play a good number of games that we can be judged. We’ve played good cricket but I think only at the end of the season

“we can look back how we have played and then figure out where do we stand,” he added.
