Kuldeep Yadav made an impressive debut against Australia in the series-decider in Dharamsala. He pulled India back into the contest, and the hosts eventually won the contest and the series as well.
But, since making his impressive debut in the Whites, Kuldeep hasn’t been able to find place in the playing XI. He, however, is in line to play his first overseas Test at the beautiful Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Ravindra Jadeja’s suspension has opened doors for the ‘chinaman’. He, meanwhile, will be facing competition from left-armer Axar Patel for a spot in the playing XI. The BCCI has named Patel as Jadeja’s replacement.

With the series already in the bag, the Indian team management will likely to give Kuldeep a chance in the 3rd Test. “I’m excited, If I get a chance to play, I’ll be happy because I’ve been working hard,” a nervous Kuldeep said.
Jadeja was handed a one-match suspension by the International Cricket Council after the 2nd Test. He has accumulated too many demerit points because of his on-field behaviour.
