There is no one that can match MS Dhoni’s prowess behind the stumps. He is probably the sharpest and the quickest with the gloves. He displayed it once again in Rising Pune Supergiants’ last game against Gujarat Lions.
Dhoni dismissed Dinesh Karthik in the last over of the innings, when he tried to run a quick single. The ball went to Dhoni behind the stumps, and he made no mistake in hitting the bullseye to save crucial runs for his side.
This wasn’t all. Dhoni also played a vital role in Suresh Raina’s dismissal. Raina, who was looking to convert a one into two, was caught short of his crease by Dhoni. He made no mistake in removing the bails in a flash.
Gujarat eventually got bundled out for 161, which Pune chased down courtesy Ben Stokes and Dhoni. Stokes and Dhoni added 76 runs to help the Supergiants in winning the game by five wickets with a ball to spare.
Stokes struck a gutsy, unbeaten hundred, his first in the Indian Premier League. Dhoni, on the other hand, steadied the innings after Pune lost their top-order inside two overs, and made a crucial partnership with Stokes.
