Australian allrounder Shane Watson has backed former Indian captain Rahul Dravid for the job of Indian Cricket Team’s coach.
Watson, who played under Dravid at now disbanded Rajasthan Royals, insisted that Dravid has huge amount of experience to pass it on to the youngsters.
The former Australia player, who retired after the World T20, added that, if given a chance to coach the Indian cricket team, Dravid will do an incredible job.
“At the starting point, there is no doubt about the quality of person Rahul Dravid is,” Watson said. “I was very fortunate to know him well while working with him at Rajasthan Royals (first as the captain) and (later as the) mentor and then learning about his cricketing abilities.”
“There is no doubt that he will do an incredible job if he gets the chance to coach India,” he added. “He is an incredible man. He has an amazing amount of experience to pass on to the youngsters.”
The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) is currently searching a head coach for the Indian team. Meanwhile, Sanjay Bangar has been appointed the head coach for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour.
